Conversations and Numbers Week of 1/23/17

 

This week we will continue to work on introductions conversations. Students will continue to write conversations introducing themselves to students and speaking. Students are also making presentations of these conversations for a grade. Will also learn how to count to 100 this week and begin working on telling time.

Week of 11/14/16

This week starts are practicing for their presentations that will be happening Wednesday through Thursday. They will record themselves practicing so they can hear how they sound and make any corrections using http://www.spanishdict.com to correct any pronunciation errors. Presentations will run Wednesday to Friday and then we begin break 11/19/16-11/27/16

The Week of 10/17/16

This week we will be learning how to talk about la familia. Students will learn vocab to speak about their families. How to describe people in their familes and how to talk about what every does in their family. Also this week we have Picture day on Tuesday 10/18/16. 10th graders will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday 10/18/16, Juniors will be taking the ASVAB on 10/18/16, Seniors will have a College and Career Fair on 10/18/16, and Freshman will be participating in Reality U on 10/18/16.

La Semana De 10/10/16-10/14/16

This week classes will be reviewing all materials from Unit 2. This includes AR Verbs, Estar, Prepositions, Questions, Numbers higher than 31, Subject pronouns, and Gustar. Class will be completing activities on vhlccentral.com, if they are not completed in class they can be completed at home. They will also be completing partnered speaking assigned and playing review games such as Kahoot. Their test will be this Friday 10/14/16

Martes 10/4/16

Warm Up: Introduced the topic of immigration and how it is affecting today’s political landscape. Students shared their opinions.

Work Session: Students then watched the movie La Misma Luna (Under the Same Moon), about a boy named Carlos crossing the US border to find his mother. While watching the movies students answered matching and true false questions. Once the movie is completed students will write a 1 page paper either reviewing the movie, analyzing a character, or explaining the theme of the movie.

Closer: Reviewed characters and plots of the movie.

Lunes 10/3/16

Warm Up: Introduced the topic of immigration and how it is affecting today’s political landscape. Students shared their opinions.

Lunes 9/19/16

Warmup: Students played Kahoot on laptops reviewing the vocab covering AR Verbs.

Worksession: Student then went to the text book website (vhlcentral.com) and watched a video and read 2 pages reviewing what they had learned for AR verbs.

Closer: Students then completed 2 activities that were assigned on the vhlcentral.com website.

Homework: Complete the online activites from today if you had not.

Martes 9/13/16

Warmup: Students reviewed the verb Ser by describing famous people. Example:Michelle Obama es guapa.

Work session: Students practiced writing more sentences describing what they are, you are, we are, I am.

Closer: Students began the movie PI rates of the Caribbean. They will write 2 sentences per character describing what they are and what they are not. 

Homework: Study how to tell the date in Spanish. There will be a quiz on Wednesday 

Lunes 9/12/16

​​Warm up: Students review telling dates in Spanish by playing a team game of “tennis”. Students used an over sind rubber ball with date written on it. They would call someone’s name and throw the ball to them. The student would then call out the date in Spanish that was written on the ball.

Work session: Students learned classroom vocabulary the worked on activities 3-5 on page 41 in their textbooks.

Closer: Students wrote down practice question they created using ser.

Homework: Study how to tell the date in Spanish. There will be a quiz on Wednesday.
