      • Instruction (I do): Power Pointe and Notes on Date, Days of the Week, and Calendar.
      • Guided Practice (We do): ): Practice examples of writing the days of the week and dates. Use of questions like ¿Qué día es hoy? ¿Cuál es la fecha? Ect
      • Independent Practice (You do): Page 12 in Spanish workbook. (Review together) Then complete Review of Spanish number by completing activity 1 on page 10 of the workbook.

    • Opening: Students will line up out in the hall and enter the class after speaking to instructor in Spanish. (Review of De donde eres and dates.)
    • Work Session –
      • Instruction (I do): Introduction to the question ¿Cuándo es tu cumpleanos?
      • Guided Practice (We do): Teacher calls random students to answer the question ¿Cuándo es tu cumpleanos?
      • Independent Practice (You do): Students complete the examples of dates hand out then Practice asking 10 other students when their birthday is. ¿Cuándo es tu cumpleanos?
    • Closing: Ticket out the door. Write one of your parents birthday. ¿Cuándo es el cumpleaños de tus padres?

 

  • Thursday: (1st block will be taking their Spanish 1 Preassessment)
    • Warm Up: Write the following dates in Spanish. (1/9/2105, 22/7/1945, 6/11/2018, 22/5/1958, 30/1/1901.)
    • Opening: Students will line up out in the hall and enter the class after speaking to instructor in Spanish. (Review of time and dates.)

      • Guided Practice (We do): Students will create analog clocks out of paper plates and construction paper. The students will complete notes on time when mintues are on the hour (examples 1:00 pm, 2:00 am, 5:00pm) and minutes between :01 and :30
      • Independent Practice (You do): Complete time practice worksheet
    • Closing: Ticket out the door (What is the difference between telling time on the hour and time between :01 and :30)

    • Warm Up: Write the following times in Spanish. (10:00 am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:30, 4:15)
    • Opening: Students will line up out in the hall and enter the class after speaking to instructor in Spanish. (Review of De donde eres and dates.)

      • Instruction (I do): N/A
      • Guided Practice (We do): The students will complete notes on time when minutes are between :31 and :59 (examples 1:31pm, 2:46 am, 5:59pm) and Time between :01 and :30
    • Independent Practice (You do): Complete time practice worksheet, Quiz on date and vocab
    • Closing: Ticket out the door (What is the difference between telling time on the hour and time between :01 and :30, and telling time between :31 and :59)

    • Work Session –
      • Instruction (I do): Introduction to numbers 1-30 and how to form a question using Cuantos(as). (Numbers Song & PowerPoint)
      • Guided Practice (We do): Develop questions with students using the word Cuantos(as) to ask how many of different things there are in the classroom.
      • Independent Practice (You do): Students will develop 3 questions on their own.
    • Closing: Students will ask and respond to each other’s newly developed questions
  • Tuesday:
    • Warm Up: Ask 3 Students who are sitting near you how to write their name in Spanish.
    • Opening: Students will line up out in the hall and enter the class after speaking to instructor in Spanish. (review of Spanish numbers, Students will be asked to tell 5 numbers between 1-30)
    • Work Session –
      • Instruction (I do): Introduction to numbers 30-100 and how to form a question using Cuantos(as). (Numbers Song & PowerPoint)
      • Guided Practice (We do): Develop Math problems that must be written and answered in Spanish.
      • Independent Practice (You do): Students will create math problems on their own to quiz a partner. Answers must equal a number between 30 & 100.
    • Closing: Ticket out the door. Students will be asked random number between 30 and 100 to say in Spanish.
  • Wednesday:
    • Warm Up: Write the following numbers in Spanish (38, 45, 57, 62, 71, 87, 93, 100)
    • Opening: Students will line up out in the hall and enter the class after speaking to instructor in Spanish. (review of Spanish numbers, Students will be asked to tell 5 numbers between 30 – 100)
    • Work Session –
      • Instruction (I do): Introduction to numbers 100 – 1,000,000 and how to form a question using Cuantos(as). (Numbers Song & PowerPoint), Introduction to process and procedures of listening activities.
      • Guided Practice (We do): Practice of quizzing each other by developing our own listening quizzes.
      • Independent Practice (You do): Students will develop their own quizzes.
    • Closing: Random students will be called upon to quiz the class on a number. (In Spanish)
  • Thursday:

    • Opening: Pop Quiz on numbers (Formative)

      • Instruction (I do): Introduction to Spanish Speaking countries and Map
      • Guided Practice (We do): Discuss how maps should be labeled.
      • Independent Practice (You do): Label your own map of Spanish speaking countries.
    • Closing: Name 5 speaking countries that you now know.

    • Warm Up: 3-2-1. Write 3 Spanish countries that you did not know yesterday. Write 2 Spanish speaking countries you already knew about. Write 1 country you would like to visit and why.

      • Independent Practice (You do): Practice with a partner asking the letter of the alphabet

    • Warm Up: What Spanish letters do you find to be most difficult to pronounce. (List and Discuss with a partner) What Spanish letters do you find to be easiest to pronounce. Whats your favorite letter? Whats your least favorite letter.
    • Opening: Formative assessment- Students will line up in the hall to practice Spanish letter with instructor. (Any alphabet letter will be asked)

      • Instruction (I do): Introduce the phrase ¿Cómo se escribe…..? (How do you spell)
      • Guided Practice (We do): Use ¿Cómo se escribe….? In context Alphabet rehersal & Song (At least 2 times)

    • Opening: : Formative assessment- Students will line up in the hall to practice Spanish letter with instructor. (Students will recite ALphabet to the instructor in Spanish)
    • Work Session –
      • Instruction (I do): Overview of how to use Spanish-English DIctonaries
      • Guided Practice (We do): Introductory Vocab Graphic Organizer. Students will use Spanish English-Dictonaries to define knew terms. Students will then attempt to write a conversation with vocab. (With timed talking points ever 5 minutes) (What is a Cognate?, What is a false Cognate?)
      • Independent Practice (You do): Introductory Vocab Graphic Organizer (Students will independently write what the similarities and difference they see between English and Spanish.
    • Closing: Think-pair-share- What do I need to do to be successful in this class (Study habits, what seems most important to learn in class)
